Lighting Design
Lighting design and programming for your musical, straight play, concert, or convention. I no longer offer architectural designs for homes or business of either new construction or renovations. I am still consulting for new builds and renovations of theatrical venues, however, I only offer consultation and initial rep plot designs for new installations. Services also available for assistant designer.
Sound Design
Sound design and front of house engineer for concerts, musicals, and conventions. This includes pre-show music and sound effects for your musical as well as initial console set-up. I work along-side your house engineer to get the perfect sound for your show. I am also available for local concerts as front of house/ monitor board sound engineer.
Installation Inspection
After the last several post installation check-ups for new building, I have decided to also add construction inspection check-ins prior to the post inspection. This service is mostly for new theater builds, though in some cases theater renovations can also apply. The additional check-ups are to ensure your theater is being built properly. Please note that this service is only applicable to the lighting and sound installation. The issue with most new theaters I have seen is that even though the theater is built by a “theater company” the installers are construction workers who don’t know how a theater is supposed to operate. I have been to theaters that have had the electrics in the wrong positions, insufficient amount of circuits for the space, improperly wired electrics, mis-focused speakers, mono sends from the console, lesser quality gear than what was actually purchased, and cheap consoles insufficient to operate in the space or that won’t last. Make sure your new space doesn’t fall victim to poor construction. If you are not 100% confident you can identify the equipment purchased and verify that the installation specs are sufficient for what you need. Mis-configuration and/or improper install of your sound and lighting system can render your entire stage unusable. My goal is to help you make sure you are getting the most out of your space, 4 out of the 4 of the last installs I have check have been incorrect in some way, which is why I have added check-ups to verify the install design is being followed. We have also found cheaper gear substituted in place of what was originally purchased, as well as gear purchased because one of the consulting companies said it was a “good deal” only to find they were overcharged for inferior equipment.
